Located on Amami Oshima, a hot, humid, and relatively sunless region in Japan, this self-sufficient house explores how a family of four can live comfortably without relying on the power grid or air conditioning. Rooted in the island's climate and culture, it reinterprets vernacular forms through passive strategies, natural ventilation, daylighting and insulation reducing dependence on mechanical systems. The project proposes a sustainable model of living in harmony with nature, offering a quiet reflection on how architecture can nurture resilience and redefine dwelling in today's world.

We were hired by A' Design Awards, Italy, whom sponsored us to promote this most exceptional award-winning architecture. Amami House exemplifies the pinnacle of excellence in architecture, demonstrating exceptional creativity and innovation that naturally commanded attention. Its inherent brilliance made our promotional efforts remarkably effective – the design's outstanding qualities spoke volumes on their own, requiring only minimal exposure to gain widespread recognition.
